Thomas William Foster is a filmmaker based in the Netherlands. He studied Audiovisual Media at HKU University of the Arts Utrecht. His short documentary Picture Yourself a Blue Light received the Dutch Film Fund Wildcard for Documentary in 2021. His work has screened at festivals and platforms including ROOTS Film Festival, Rotterdams Open Doek, and Blikvangers.

Working across documentary and fiction, Foster is interested in people searching for belonging, meaning, and identity. His films often explore the relationship between individuals and the structures that shape their lives, with a particular focus on loneliness, connection, and the contradictions of contemporary life. Through an observational approach, he seeks to create space for complexity rather than judgment.
